Artists will be notified by Friday, December 13 and can make arrangements to install during designated times, which will be shared upon invitation to participate.

We have space for about 20+ artists (dependent on size of pieces, etc) and will likely ask participating artists to submit 1-2 pieces (dependent on size).

This exhibition is being presented by Flying Kite's On the Ground program, Painted Bride Art Center and Small But Mighty Arts.

ON THE GROUND was a pilot initiative of Flying Kite that created a temporary media hub in a vacant or under-utilized storefront or building and took a deep dive on neighborhood transformation through news coverage, events and social media. After 90 days, it was on to the next neighborhood. Flying Kite piloted this program from May 2012 to August 2013. Flying Kite is thrilled to bring together all the artists and communities we worked with and in (mentioned above) for this opportunity to celebrate the city and region. www.flyingkitemedia.com

PAINTED BRIDE ART CENTER brings together artists, audiences and communities to push the boundaries of how they create and experience art. They cultivate an environment for critical dialog and playful exchange to transform lives and communities. www.paintedbride.org

SMALL BUT MIGHTY ARTS provides artists with small grants and additional resources at critical points in their creative careers that will serve as a catalyst to further their work while living and creating in Philadelphia. smallbutmightyartsgrant.com

Our hope is to bring together artists and residents in these designated neighborhoods to celebrate creativity and innovation, which can serve as a catalyst for business and cultural development throughout our region, especially along its commercial corridors and across its neighborhoods.
